The Shehzori Project is a beacon of hope for Muslim women and children in New Jersey, offering a safe haven and resources to those who find themselves displaced or in crisis. Born out of the vision of empowering women to reclaim their rights, the project is an embodiment of strength, courage, and community support.

The Shehzori House Initiative

At the heart of the Shehzori Project is Shehzori House—a shelter and empowerment center that provides not just a roof over the heads of women and children in need, but also the tools they need to rebuild their lives. Inspired by the strong heroine from Mirza Azeem Beg Chaghtai’s novel “Shehzori,” this initiative is rooted in the belief that women are powerful agents of change, capable of overcoming challenges when given the right resources and support.

Shehzori House operates through two essential programs:

• Al-Wali Shehzori Shelter Home, which offers immediate assistance to homeless women and children.
• Shehzori Guest House, which provides subsidized housing for women who need continued support as they work toward self-reliance.

These programs work hand-in-hand to provide a sense of safety, stability, and empowerment, helping women and children reclaim their lives and dreams.

The Shehzori House Fundraiser

To keep this mission going, we recently hosted a Shehzori House Fundraiser to raise much-needed funds for the Shehzori Guest House program. The fundraiser aims to ensure that the Shehzori House can continue to provide not just temporary shelter, but long-term support to women and children in need.

The event was a true testament to the power of community, with people coming together to contribute to this vital cause. The generosity and support we received are helping Shehzori House expand its reach, touching more lives and building brighter futures for women and children in crisis.
